Anyone familiar with this wildly successful video game series knows how epic, dramatic and violent it is. But our strategy team's research revealed a surprising tonal shift after the introduction of Kratos’ son, Atreus. From a violent God to a struggling father, the internet suddenly saw Kratos in a different (and humorous) light.

Enter three celebrity dads, their kids, and one iconic loincloth. The campaign premiered during the World Series, with an extended cut on Entertainment Weekly's website and custom social spots tailored to each celeb’s socials that expanded the story.

We pulled in a whole new audience and smashed records: it became PlayStation’s fastest-selling first-party launch ever: 5.1M copies in five days. It crossed 11M in only 3 months, outpacing 2018’s entry, which took over a year to hit 10M.
